6 Coffeeshops You Should Try in Kelapa Gading - Jakarta

Coffee is not only a very popular drink around the world but here also in Indonesia, especially in Jakarta. There are many benefits of coffee for our health. Compiled from Johns Hopkins Medicine, besides an energy boost, drinking coffee might reduce the risk of heart disease, stroke, diabetes, and kidney disease. Caffeine also helps to prevent Parkinson and Alzheimer. It also protects your liver and even dark roast coffee helps to decrease chances of getting cancer or tumour.

One of the hidden gems in Jakarta that has been a sanctuary for many coffee shops is the Kelapa Gading district. Located in northern Jakarta, Kelapa Gading offers many coffee shops for the coffee-goers who want to taste and enjoy coffee that's different from any other place. There are several coffee shops in Kelapa Gading that do not only offer coffee but also come with a beautiful and attractive atmosphere in every detail of the place. The cozy ambience in those coffee shops has become a place for many coffee-goers to hang out. I'm gonna take you to 6 coffee shops in Kelapa Gading that you should really try. Six Ounces Coffee

Six Ounces Coffee is a local suburban specialty coffee shop serving Western breakfast, lunch & dinner. Located behind Kelapa Gading Mall makes Six Ounces Coffee a great place to try. Surrounded by big shady trees and green plants, that's what makes it cozy. With wooden textures in the indoor area, this coffee shop brings a calm and comfortable feeling.

The food and drink menu is nothing less interesting. Six Ounces Coffee serves great coffee. If you like some medium-strong taste, you can order their Cappuccino and Piccolo. But what I like here is their Caramelized Cold Brew. A cold brew with caramel flavour served in some kind of a laboratory bottle that what makes it unique.

Their Six Ounces Breakfast is a good choice for your brunch. Served with two scrambled/poached/sunny side up eggs, beef sausage, beef bacon, sauteed mushroom, mixed salad, cherry tomato, and toasted sourdough. Personally, I've tried their Double Bacon Cheeseburger. The double beef patty was so tender and juicy. It's a very recommended menu to try. They open on Monday to Friday from 8 am to 8 pm and Saturday to Sunday from 7 am to 8 pm and here is the location.

Kopi KurangLebih

Here in Indonesia, there is a trend of milk coffee with palm sugar. This trend keeps growing and many coffee shops have been serving this coffee menu. Kopi Kuranglebih is one of them. Located at Jalan Seruling Blok F No. 33, Kelapa Gading, Jakarta, this petite coffee shop is one of the old players in the neighbourhood.

Their favourite menu is Kopi Susu Legit and Kopi Susu Pas. Kopi Susu Legit is a milk coffee with palm sugar, while Kopi Susu Pas is a milk coffee with regular sugar. I like the coffee here because the taste is quite strong and the balanced flavour. My regular order is Kopi Susu Legit with less sugar. Aside from coffee, they also have other drinks such as lemonade, lemon tea, matcha latte, chocolate, and so on. They also offer a variant of one-litre coffee.

This coffee shop also has some choices of food menu. Bakmi Pas is what I recommend for those who like noodles. There are also Cireng, french fries, and some snacks from their glass cabinet. They open daily from 7 am to 8 pm and here is the location.

As for Ivorians (the nickname for people who live in the Kelapa Gading) must know this coffee shop. This coffee shop has an iconic yellow entrance door. You just can't miss it. With petite size comes a big and quirky personality, that's what I think about this coffee shop.

Enjoying coffee here will be an unforgettable experience. Homebound Coffee has a rotating choice of coffee beans. So make sure that you peek at the note glued to the espresso machine. There is something uncommon served at this coffee shop. Yes, it's pempek. I think that was my very first time eating pempek in a coffee shop. Surprisingly, it went well with the coffee. They have soft and chewy cookies as well. Btw, they open on Monday to Saturday from 8 am to 4 pm and here is the location.

Copper Club Specialty Coffee

If you look for a coffee shop with a minimalist, simple, yet beautiful and Instagrammable design, Copper Club is a good choice of place. Not just hanging out, you can capture your moment here since they have plenty of wonderful spots in every corner. On the first floor, there is a corner with a white neon light decoration that says "Come & Get Your Love". It makes the place even cuter, a perfect spot for OOTD photos.

The second floor is nothing less appealing. They decorate it for the perfect experience that a coffee shop can offer. You can explore every corner with ideas of taking pictures. This coffee shop opens every day from 9 am to 6 pm.

Don't worry about the food and drink here, they serve you well. I like their Copper Coffee. A perfect combination of coffee, fresh milk, and palm sugar. Best served cold. About the food, Copper Club will indulge your tongue with a fusion choice of food. From Asian to Western, they offer local cuisine as well. You might check their Tortilla Chips, Dirty Chilli Fries, and Lamb Quesadilla. If you're interested to go there, you can check the location here.

With its rustic-industrial interior, it serves you with a lingering smell of fresh-brewed coffee when you step into it. The indoor is an open space with glass windows surrounding, giving the daylight streams in.

They offer a pretty casual yet focused selection of coffee. For those coffee-goers in need of caffeine dose, you can try their Espresso, Americano, Piccolo, Cappuccino, and Latte. This coffee shop is located beside lobby 8 of Mall of Indonesia. Coffeegasm comes with a loving atmosphere and simple interior design. They have this wall full of frames inside the coffee shop. The friendly baristas create a delightful ambience while enjoying your cup of coffee. Established in 2017, this coffee shop opens every day from 8 am to 7 pm. Check here for the location!

The coffee selections are quite diverse. They have specialty coffee and signature cubes of coffee. I like the latte for its creamy and delicate texture. For the non-caffeine drinkers, they also offer various choices of tea. Looking for a bite? They have you covered with light bites, rice bowls, all-day brunch, and smoothies.
